Dachshund
Breed Information

The dachshund originated in Germany over 300 years ago.  They were developed to hunt badgers.  They name means badger dog.

Some people underestimate the Dachshund.  They are a people-loving, funny, affectionate and mild-mannered house pet.  As innocent as the Dachshund may seem, they have the tenacity of a terrier, the tracking ability of a hound and the courage of a German Shepherd.

Dachshunds are wonderful pets.  They are good with children.  They are fun loving and playful.  They are more than a great lap dog.  Their smarts make them a natural companion and comedian.
